主任的話

各位親愛的同學：

  新型冠狀病毒疫情持續在全球蔓延，除了影響一般民眾外，對於同學的就學時程也造成很大的影響，目前有部分同學無法如期返校需在其所屬國家進行線上學習，另外有部分同學延後入境，學期初將有一段時間無法出席實體課程。通識教育中心秉持教育部執行原則，將給予學分從寬認定，提供學生多元彈性修課與學分抵免等管道，我們將全力協助無法及時返台之境外生，讓大家得以不中斷學業，也請同學們不必恐慌與擔心，若有任何需求與困難，務必告知通識教育中心相關承辦人，以利通識課程順利抵免學分！


  逢甲大學一直以來為了鼓勵同學進行自主學習，早已經完成豐富的數位教材與線上多元學習管道，通識中心課程包括有：通識核心必修、英文、國文、體育與通識選修課程，以及全校國際生大一不分系學士班。此次我們課程主要採取隨班實時授課，同學利用O365之Teams平台同步參與教師課堂教學，並有課程錄影提供非同步觀看。完成檢疫隔離的同學，可隨時加入實體課堂繼續上課；少數課程則採線上自主課程的形式進行，並提供教師線上輔導。當上述情況都無法解決也將提供獨立研究課程，讓同學提出專題申請並進行專案製作，相關的課程如防疫安心就學調查表單，並提供業務承辦單位聯絡方式，請同學依照自我的需求進行選課，我們將全力協助，讓遠方的您也可以有效的學習!

The letter from GEC

Dear Students,

  The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected our everyday life and educational system worldwide. Currently, some students who are not able to return to schools have to stay at home and continue their study online. Others have deferred their entry to Taiwan, and thus they are unable to attend the course in-person at the beginning of the new semester. Following the core principle of the Ministry of Education (MOE), the General Education Center (GEC) has implemented a contingency plan to provide a flexible learning plan to accommodate these students’ learning needs and methods of credits exemption. Our center will do our best to assist affected international students to continue their education. If you have any concerns or requests regarding the GEC courses or credit exemption, please feel free to contact the office of the GEC center.


  Feng Chia University has long started offering various digital learning materials and online courses to foster students’ self-learning autonomy, including core requirements and electives for general education courses, English, Chinese, Physical Education, and Pre-major Program (PMP) for International Freshman Students. In response to the COVID-19 situation, we have offered real-time online courses in which students can use Microsoft Teams, offered by Office 365, to participate in synchronous class sessions online or watch the recorded videos anytime. Students who complete the COVID-19 quarantine can immediately continue attending the course in person. In addition, several courses are designed for self-learning online study with online teacher assistance. If the above learning approaches cannot resolve your learning needs, we will also provide independent research courses in which students can apply for a research project and complete it online individually. Resources such as GEC Stay Home Stay Safe Study (SHSSS) Program Course information, a course survey form and information for the point of contact are provided to assist your study. Please choose the courses that suit your learning needs and we will do our best to help your remote learning experience.
